Nagar Baul James’ Concert Proceeds to Aid Milestone Crash Victims

In response to the tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force FT-7 fighter jet at Milestone College in Uttara, the renowned band Nagar Baul James has expressed profound grief and concern. The band announced that a portion of the proceeds from one of their upcoming concerts will be donated to support the families of the victims and injured students.

Currently, Nagar Baul James is in the United States, where they have already performed several shows. Among their upcoming events is a concert scheduled for July 25 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, organized by Riverine Entertainment. In a Facebook post, the organizers stated that a portion of the ticket sales from this concert will be directly allocated to assist the families of those who lost their lives and the students affected by the tragic plane crash at Milestone College.

The post read, “Our hearts are broken for the lives lost and the students affected in the tragic plane crash in Dhaka. In this moment of grief, we stand with the people of our country. As a gesture of solidarity, a portion of the ticket sales from ‘Nagar Baul James Live in Philadelphia’ will be used to support the students impacted by this tragedy. Let us come together—not just for music, but for healing, unity, and for the future of those who need us the most.” James, the lead of Nagar Baul, also shared a condolence message on his personal Facebook account, stating, “We are deeply shocked and saddened by this horrific accident. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the invaluable students of Milestone College whose bright futures were halted by this tragedy. Our prayers are with the injured students and their families during this difficult time.” He further expressed gratitude to the Bangladesh Army, Fire Service, and all rescue workers who responded swiftly and courageously to the situation. James extended his sympathies to the bereaved families, prayed for the souls of the departed, and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. He also affirmed that his band stands in solidarity with the students, teachers, and the entire Milestone College community. Additionally, Nagar Baul James is set to perform on August 2 at Freedom High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, alongside popular Bangladeshi singers and brothers, Pratik Hasan and Pritom Hasan, who are currently in the United States. This concert is being organized by Swadhin Bangladesh Cultural Organization USA, Friends and Family, and Ekattor Foundation. James is expected to return to Bangladesh in September after completing his U.S. tour. The current members of Nagar Baul are Faruk Mahfuz Anam James (vocals), Ahsan Elahi Fanti (drums), Sultan Rayhan Khan (guitar), and Talukdar Sabbir (bass guitar).
