RUETDC National Debate Festival 2025 Held with Smart BEEE as Title Sponsor

The RUET Debating Club (RUETDC), in collaboration with Smart BEEE as the title sponsor, successfully organized the RUETDC National Debate Festival 2025, creating a vibrant platform for young debaters from across the country. Held from July 11 to 13 at the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) campus, the festival was a lively celebration of logic, analytical thinking, and teamwork.

The inter-school and college-level final debate saw the presence of Ali Aslam, Additional Director General of the Department of Narcotics Control, Rajshahi, as a special guest, representing the event’s silver partner. The festival kicked off on July 11 with the school-college category, featuring 30 teams from various regions of Bangladesh. Teams named "Panda" and "Band Kar Generator" captivated the audience with their compelling arguments and eloquent presentations.

On July 18, the university-level debates took place, with 38 teams from different universities participating. The debaters engaged in thought-provoking discussions on national and international issues, further enriching the festival's intellectual atmosphere. The final day, July 19, was marked by the presence of RUET’s honorable Vice-Chancellor and the Director of Students’ Welfare (DSW) as distinguished guests. In the school-college category, Team Panda and Team Band Kar Generator faced off in an exhilarating final, showcasing a remarkable blend of logic, emotion, and strategy. In the inter-university category, 38 teams competed through four preliminary rounds in a tab format, followed by quarterfinals and semifinals. The grand finale featured a thrilling face-off between the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Debating Society (KUETDS) and the Jahangirnagar University Debating Society (JUDS). After an intense battle of words, KUETDS emerged victorious with a 5-0 ballot, securing the championship title. Both the school-college and university-level champions, runners-up, the tournament’s best debater, and the best debater in the final round were awarded cash prizes by the title sponsor, Smart BEEE, in recognition of their outstanding performances.
