India All Out in Just 34 Balls, Folded for 224 Runs

London, August 1, 2025: India’s hopes of building a substantial total were dashed as they were bowled out for 224 runs in just 34 balls on the second day of the Oval Test. Karun Nair, who resumed the day on 57, was dismissed LBW in the third over of the day by Josh Tongue after a review confirmed the decision, signaling the beginning of India’s collapse.

Starting the day at 204 for 6, India could only add 20 more runs, lasting a mere half-hour. The team was bundled out in 69.4 overs, with the final four wickets falling in just 34 balls.

Josh Tongue and Gus Atkinson claimed two wickets each on the second day, with Atkinson finishing with an impressive 5 for 33. After Nair’s dismissal, Washington Sundar offered some resistance but fell for 26 in the next over, caught off Atkinson’s short ball while attempting a pull shot. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna also failed to hold firm. Sundar’s dismissal came in the fourth ball of the 68th over, and India’s innings concluded in the 69.4th over.
