According to a weather forecast issued by meteorologist Dr. Md. Omar Faruk on Saturday (July 26), the warning applies to the internal river ports until 6 PM. The affected regions include Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. These areas may experience storms with winds blowing from the south/southeast at speeds of 45-60 km/h, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms. River ports in these regions have been instructed to display cautionary signal number 1.
The latest weather forecast also indicates that most parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, along with many areas in Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions, are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds. Some areas in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may see moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall. Additionally, the department has warned of potential landslides in hilly areas.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department further noted that day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged during this period.
