After being confined for nearly five hours at Milestone College in Uttara, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul and Education Adviser CR Abrar attempted to leave under police escort but were unsuccessful.
On Tuesday (July 22), around 3:15 PM, the convoy of the two advisers faced obstruction on the road while trying to exit the college premises. Subsequently, they returned to Milestone College.
Earlier that morning, around 10:30 AM, the two advisers visited the accident-affected Haider Ali Building. While heading to Building-5 after the inspection, students attempted to block Asif Nazrul’s path. Upon reaching Building-5, the Education Adviser joined him. The two remained there for an extended period while students protested outside, demanding compensation and other claims.
Around 12:30 PM, Asif Nazrul addressed the students via a handheld microphone in front of Building-5 under police protection, accompanied by Press Secretary Shafikul Alam.
During his speech, Asif Nazrul said, “We fully agree with your demands. The demands you have raised are entirely reasonable. On behalf of the government, I assure you that all your demands will be met.”
