A youth named Al Amin (20), who was injured in a mob beating on suspicion of being a robber near Shanta Filling Station opposite Mugda General Hospital in the capital, passed away at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Thursday evening.
Confirming the incident, Mugda Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Uttam Kumar told that Thursday night that on Wednesday night, local residents beat Al Amin on allegations of robbing money and belongings from a person near Shanta Filling Station, opposite Mugda General Hospital. Upon receiving the news, the police rescued Al Amin in a bloodied condition and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment on Thursday evening. Al Amin lived in the Mugda area of the capital, and his hometown was Bancharampur in Brahmanbaria.
