On Tuesday (August 12), after winning the toss and choosing to bat, the Bangladesh ‘A’ team posted 181 for 5 wickets in their allotted overs.
Opener Naim Sheikh scored 36 runs off 29 balls, while Afif Hossain contributed 43 runs off 33 balls. After Afif retired hurt, captain Nurul Hasan Sohan remained unbeaten on 13, Yasir Ali Chowdhury played a brilliant 30, and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury added 18, helping Bangladesh reach a competitive total.
In response, Dixie managed 144 for 5 wickets in 20 overs, falling short of the target. Yasin Muntaser top-scored for Dixie with 26 runs off 12 balls, while Jagadeshwar Koduru made 25 runs.
Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi claimed 2 wickets for 38 runs, and Rakibul Hasan took 2 wickets for 5 runs.
The Bangladesh ‘A’ team is currently in Australia to participate in the Top End T20 Series for the second time. They will begin their campaign in this edition with a match against Pakistan Shaheens on August 14.
