According to the 2025 Henley Passport Index, published by the UK-based consultancy firm Henley & Partners, Bangladesh ranks 94th among the world’s most powerful passports. The index, which evaluates 199 countries based on data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA), places Bangladesh alongside war-torn Palestine and Eritrea in the same ranking.
The Henley Passport Index, compiled every three months for the past 19 years, assesses the strength of passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access visa-free or with a visa on arrival. In this year’s edition, Bangladeshi passport holders can travel to 39 out of 226 destinations worldwide without a visa or with a visa on arrival. Due to some countries sharing joint rankings, the index lists a total of 99 positions.
