Chief Adviser Embraces Leaders After Reading July Proclamation

Dhaka, August 5, 2025 – At the “July Renaissance” ceremony held to commemorate the “July Mass Uprising Day,” Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, delivered the historic “July Proclamation.” The event took place at the South Plaza of the National Parliament, where Dr. Yunus began reading the proclamation at 5:22 PM on Tuesday. After concluding, he warmly embraced the leaders of various political parties present at the event, symbolizing unity.

The ceremony commenced with the performance of the national anthem, followed by the arrival of the Chief Adviser on stage. He then presented the “July Proclamation,” a historic document rooted in the 2024 mass uprising. The proclamation, which declares the martyrs of the July movement as “National Heroes,” reflects the aspirations of the Bangladeshi people and their demand for state and constitutional recognition of the uprising. Political leaders at the event exchanged greetings and embraced one another, showcasing solidarity. Notable attendees included BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Gana Adhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, Nagorik Oikya’s Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, NCIP Convener Nahid Islam, and Gono Songhoti Andolon Chief Zonaid Saki. The interim government finalized the July Proclamation after consultations with BNP and other political parties, achieving consensus on its state and constitutional recognition. Despite the rain, which Dr. Yunus described as “Allah’s mercy,” students and the public gathered at Manik Mia Avenue to attend a concert and celebrate the occasion.
