Dhaka University Declares Fazlur Rahman Persona Non Grata by 'United Students' Parliament

The 'United Students' Parliament' has declared Fazlur Rahman, an advisor to the BNP chairperson, persona non grata on the Dhaka University campus and its surrounding areas. This decision was made in protest against his remarks labeling the forces behind the July mass uprising as "dark forces" and referring to its organizers as "children of Razakars." The organization has also warned of taking action to resist him if necessary.

On Sunday (August 24), during a press conference held at Dhaka University, Mahin Sarkar, the General Secretary candidate from the 'United Students' Parliament' panel in the DUCSU election, made this announcement.

He stated, "We have made our stance clear. If anyone makes derogatory remarks about the 2024 mass uprising in the future, we will protest. If Fazlur Rahman enters the Dhaka University campus or its surrounding areas, I, Mahin Sarkar, along with the United Students' Parliament, will resist him." Mahin Sarkar further declared, "We are declaring Fazlur Rahman persona non grata on the DU campus. Until the student organizations aligned with BNP clarify their stance on this matter, we, on behalf of the general students, will express suspicion toward them. The DUCSU election is not just an election; through the United Students' Parliament, the struggle to preserve the nation's political history will continue."
