Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has expressed outrage after discovering her images, along with those of other women, on an adult website. Describing the incident as "despicable," she has ordered the swift identification and punishment of those responsible for posting the images.
The website also featured images of Meloni’s sister, Ariana, and opposition leader Elly Schlein. Following the discovery of the Prime Minister’s images, the website’s managers shut it down on Thursday, August 28, 2025, stating that users had misused the platform. The site had seven million subscribers before its closure.
The accused collected images of Meloni and other women from various sources and uploaded them to the adult website, adding explicit captions and content to make them more appealing to users.
Condemning the incident, Meloni told the Italian newspaper *Corriere della Sera*, “I am outraged by what has happened. I extend my solidarity and support to all the women whose images were uploaded and who have been humiliated and insulted by this act.”
She further stated, “It is disheartening that, even in 2025, there are people who believe it is acceptable to trample on a woman’s dignity and consider such obscene insults normal or legitimate.”
The adult website, launched in 2005, has faced complaints from many women over the years, but no action had been taken until now.
