Jashore Jubo Dal Denies Detained Individuals Are Their Activists in Robbery Case

Leaders of Jashore District Jubo Dal held a press conference at Jashore Press Club, strongly condemning and protesting the claim that four individuals detained with a toy pistol and a sharp knife while preparing for a robbery in Manirampur were Jubo Dal activists.

On Saturday (August 2), at a press conference held at Jashore Press Club, the district Jubo Dal rejected these claims. Member Secretary of Jashore District Jubo Dal, Ansarul Haque Rana, stated during the press conference that on the night of August 1, police detained four individuals from Room 408 of the "Rojoni Nibash" hotel in Manirampur town while they were allegedly preparing for a robbery. Subsequently, various media outlets identified them as Jubo Dal activists, which he claimed is entirely false. He emphasized that the detained individuals have no connection with Jubo Dal.

Rana further alleged that a certain group deliberately spread this misinformation to tarnish Jubo Dal’s reputation. Regarding media reports claiming that Manirampur Upazila BNP President Advocate Shahid Iqbal Hossain confirmed the detained individuals as active Jubo Dal activists, Jashore District Jubo Dal Convener M Tamal Ahmed questioned how a BNP leader could ascertain their affiliation with Jubo Dal. He added that if the detained individuals were indeed involved with Jubo Dal, the organization would have taken strict disciplinary action against them. Among others, Senior Joint Convener Ashraful Kabir Sumon, Joint Conveners Kabir Hossain Babu, Aminur Rahman Madhu, and Nazmul Hossain Babul were present at the press conference.
It may be noted that on the night of August 1, police detained Alam Khan from Gangra, Tutul from Durgapur, Saiful Islam from Kadambaria village, and Abu Sinha from Khedapara, along with a toy pistol and a switchgear knife. The police filed a case against them, and on Friday afternoon, they were sent to jail through the court
