Initially, Pakistan and Afghanistan were scheduled to play a bilateral T20 series this month. However, Pakistan has opted to host a tri-nation T20 series instead, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) alongside Afghanistan.
As part of preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the final schedule for the tri-nation T20 series. The tournament will commence on August 29 and conclude on September 7, with all matches to be held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE.
The 17th edition of the Asia Cup is set to begin on September 9 in the UAE. This tri-nation series will serve as an ideal preparation platform for Pakistan, UAE, and Afghanistan, with the teams transitioning to the Asia Cup just a day after the series concludes.
The series will kick off on August 29 with a match between Pakistan and Afghanistan. In the league stage, each team will face the others twice. The top two teams in the points table will advance to the final.

- August 30: Pakistan vs. UAE
