Lionel Messi to Visit India for Three-Day Tour in December

Football legend Lionel Messi is set to return to India after 14 years for a three-day tour in December, visiting Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai. The Argentine superstar will participate in a series of events, including a grand reception, football workshops, and the "Goat Cup" tournament, with Bollywood and cricket stars expected to join, according to *The Times of India*.

As per *The Times of India*, Messi will attend a ticketed event at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium on December 14. The event organizer, Wizcraft, has secured permission from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to use the stadium. Several Indian superstar cricketers are expected to attend.

Kolkata is another key destination during the December 13–15 tour, where Messi will be honored at a grand reception. The event, planned at the historic Eden Gardens, is expected to be attended by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Messi will also launch a football workshop and clinic for children and organize a seven-a-side football tournament named the "Goat Cup." While details of the Delhi leg of the tour are yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated to include football-related programs and opportunities for fans to interact with Messi directly. This marks Messi’s second visit to India. He previously visited in September 2011 to play a friendly match against Venezuela at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium.
