Rohingya Youth Arrested by Army in Cox’s Bazar for Smuggling Yaba in Stomach

In an innovative drug smuggling attempt, a Rohingya youth was arrested by the Bangladesh Army in Cox’s Bazar for concealing Yaba tablets inside his stomach.

The incident was reported in a press release issued late Friday night (August 22, 2025). The arrested individual, identified as Mohammad Abdullah (20), is a resident of Block C in the Leda (LMS-24) Rohingya camp in Teknaf. According to the press release, based on confidential information, a joint anti-drug operation was conducted in the Kalatali area of Cox’s Bazar city on Friday evening, leading to Abdullah’s arrest. He was taken to the Jhilongja Army Camp in Cox’s Bazar Sadar, where, through a special procedure, 2,350 Yaba tablets were recovered from his stomach. The army subsequently handed him over to the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station. The press release further stated that regular operations to curb drug smuggling will continue
