Shah Rukh Khan to Receive First National Film Award

Bollywood’s ‘Badshah’ Shah Rukh Khan, who has gifted audiences with unforgettable films for over three decades, is finally set to receive his first National Film Award. According to an exclusive report by entertainment portal Pinkvilla, Shah Rukh Khan will be honored with the Best Actor award at the 71st National Film Awards for his performance in the film *Jawan*. Citing sources, the report states, “Shah Rukh Khan is being recognized as the Best Actor for his role in *Jawan*. An official announcement is expected at a press conference in Delhi today, August 1.” This marks the first National Film Award for the iconic actor.

Shah Rukh Khan made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with *Deewana* and has since delivered numerous blockbuster hits, captivating audiences worldwide. The year 2023 proved to be a landmark in his illustrious career, with three of his films—*Pathaan*, *Jawan*, and *Dunki*—collectively drawing over 7 crore viewers in Indian theaters. Together, these films grossed more than ₹1300 crore in India and surpassed ₹2500 crore globally.

Despite receiving countless accolades and honors worldwide, a National Film Award had remained elusive for Shah Rukh. His powerful dual role in *Jawan* has now opened the doors to this prestigious recognition. Currently, Shah Rukh is busy shooting for his upcoming film *King*, slated for release in 2026. The film will also mark the big-screen debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan, who will star alongside him.
