In a tragic accident in Tangail’s Dhanbari Upazila, three people were killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup van. One person was also injured in the incident, which took place around 7:00 AM on Thursday in the Bilaspur Bottola area of the upazila.
The deceased have been identified as motorcycle riders Al-Amin (30), son of Zinnat Ali from Charpalisha village in Melandaha Upazila, Jamalpur; Swapan Miya (35), son of Md. Aminul; and the pickup van driver Md. Jewel (32), son of the late Nur Islam from Hasil Monikabari area in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila.
According to police, Al-Amin and Swapan Miya were traveling from Jamalpur to Ghatail in Tangail on a motorcycle. Around 7:00 AM, when the motorcycle reached the Bilaspur Bottola area on the Tangail-Jamalpur regional road, it collided with a pickup van coming from the opposite direction. The driver of the pickup van and the two motorcycle riders were killed on the spot. Another motorcycle rider was seriously injured and was rescued and sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment.
At around 11:30 AM on Thursday, Dhanbari Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) AI Akram Hossain stated that the bodies of the three deceased are at the police station. The pickup van and motorcycle involved in the accident have been seized and brought to the station. Legal action is being taken regarding the incident.
