President, Chief Adviser Greet Nation on Eve of Eid-e-Miladunnabi

Dhaka, September 5, 2025: President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Bangladesh and Muslims worldwide on the eve of Eid-e-Miladunnabi, a day commemorating the birth and passing of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The occasion, observed with religious solemnity on Saturday, is a public holiday in Bangladesh.

In his message, President Shahabuddin described Eid-e-Miladunnabi as a sacred day for Muslims globally, marking the arrival of the Prophet (PBUH) with a divine message of mercy, peace, and salvation. He highlighted the Prophet’s role in dispelling injustice and darkness in Arab society through the revelation of the Quran, establishing Tawheed (oneness of God) and a just society. The President emphasized that the Prophet’s teachings and lifestyle remain a guiding model for Muslims, advocating justice, equality, and compassion. He prayed for divine guidance to follow the Prophet’s example for the welfare of the nation and humanity.

Chief Adviser Prof Yunus echoed these sentiments, noting that the Prophet (PBUH) was sent as Rahmatullil Alamin—a mercy for all creation—bringing peace, progress, and emancipation. He stressed that the Prophet’s timeless teachings offer a path to peace and justice in today’s conflict-ridden world, serving as the ultimate guide for both religious and worldly life. Yunus expressed hope that Eid-e-Miladunnabi would bring peace, prosperity, and blessings to all.
To mark the occasion, Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar will broadcast special programs, while national dailies will publish supplements highlighting the significance of the day. Eid-e-Miladunnabi, observed on the 12th of Rabiul Awal (570 AD), commemorates the Prophet’s birth and passing in Makkah, a day of reflection and reverence for Muslims worldwide.
