Dhaka, September 1, 2025: Alhaj Mokbul Ahmed Chowdhury, a distinguished businessman from Mirpur and father of Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, Chairman of Debate for Democracy and News Director of ATN Bangla, passed away today, Monday, September 1, 2025, at 5:30 PM. He succumbed to a heart attack at United Hospital in the capital. At the time of his death, he was 85 years old (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un).
The first Janaza prayer for the deceased will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 8:00 AM at the madrasa he established in his birthplace, Rasulpur village, Ramganj, Lakshmipur district. On the same day, after the Isha prayer, a second Janaza will take place at Baitul Falah Mosque, Shershahshuri Road, Mohammadpur, Dhaka, followed by his burial at the Mohammadpur Eidgah graveyard.
