Nurjahan Begum, Advisor to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, visited a potential site for the construction of a proposed 500-bed hospital in Karnaphuli Upazila, Chattogram, on Saturday (April 26). The inspection took place at a location adjacent to the new Upazila building in the Crossing area.
During the visit, the advisor assessed the suitability of the site for the hospital project. She held discussions with relevant officials, focusing on the necessity, feasibility, and future plans for the hospital’s construction.
Nurjahan emphasized the interim government’s commitment to swiftly implementing plans to ensure modern healthcare services. She noted that the hospital, if built at this location, would significantly benefit the people of southern Chattogram.
Accompanying the advisor were her Special Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Private Secretary Dr. Md. Manjurul Islam, Chattogram Divisional Health Director Dr. Ang Sui Pru Marma, Chattogram District Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam, Acting Upazila Executive Officer Roya Tripura, and Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mosha.
