Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 12 kg 975 grams of Indian silver worth Tk 2.7 million during an operation in the Bhadiali border area of Kalaroa, Satkhira. According to BGB sources, the operation was conducted based on secret intelligence. Sensing their presence, smugglers abandoned a plastic bag containing the silver and fled the scene.
Legal proceedings regarding the seizure are underway, and the silver will be deposited at the Satkhira Treasury Office.
Additionally, BGB has seized various smuggled goods, including Indian sarees, burqas, medicines, and soap worth approximately Tk 300,000, during special anti-smuggling operations in different border areas of Satkhira and Kalaroa.
