Dhaka: The clash between Dhaka College and City College students has once again disrupted the capital city. On Tuesday, April 22, Dhaka College students attacked City College, vandalizing its premises. Reports suggest that longstanding enmity between the two groups led to this incident.
Around 11 AM, City College students gathered under the Science Lab foot-over bridge, while Dhaka College students assembled near the Teachers’ Training College. By 12 PM, both groups engaged in throwing bricks and wielding sticks against each other.
The tension escalated following an incident on Monday, April 21, where a Dhaka College student was allegedly assaulted by City College students. Videos and information about the assault spread across Dhaka College's Facebook groups, fueling Tuesday's retaliation.
To control the situation, additional police forces have been deployed in the Science Lab and New Market areas. However, tensions between the students remain high.
