Formal MP for Dhaka-5 constituency, has been arrested

Dhaka: Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Dhaka-5 constituency, Kazi Monirul Islam Monu, has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). 

The arrest took place on Monday, April 21, 2025, in the Gulshan area of the capital city.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Division, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed the news. He stated that Monirul Islam Monu was apprehended in connection with ongoing investigations. Further details regarding the charges or reasons for the arrest have not been disclosed yet.
