Meanwhile, isolated areas in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions may experience temporary gusty winds, lightning, and rain or thunderstorms during this period.
Heatwave Persists in Eight Regions, Rain Likely in Some Areas
The BMD’s 120-hour weather forecast, issued on Thursday evening, indicates that other parts of the country may see partly cloudy skies with predominantly dry conditions. Day and night temperatures across Bangladesh are likely to remain largely unchanged during this time.
A low-pressure system extending from southwestern Bangladesh through West Bengal to the northern Bay of Bengal is influencing the weather, the BMD noted.
Friday Forecast (April 25): The forecast for Friday evening suggests that Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions could see isolated instances of gusty winds, lightning, and rain or thunderstorms. Elsewhere, dry weather with partly cloudy skies is expected. Day and night temperatures may slightly decrease across the country.
Sunday and Monday Forecast (April 27-28): Over the next two days, parts of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Sylhet divisions, along with isolated areas in Rangpur and Chattogram divisions, are likely to see gusty winds, lightning, and rain or thunderstorms. On Sunday, daytime temperatures may drop by 1-2°C, with a slight decrease in nighttime temperatures. On Monday, a further reduction of 1-2°C in daytime temperatures is expected, along with a marginal drop in nighttime temperatures.
The BMD also indicated that rainfall and thunderstorms are likely to persist beyond this period. Additionally, warnings have been issued for potential storms in Mymensingh and Sylhet, with river ports advised to remain cautious.
