Sports, May 27, 2025: The Bangladesh cricket team is set to face Pakistan in a three-match T20 series starting Wednesday at 9:00 PM Bangladesh time. The matches will be broadcast live on T Sports in Bangladesh. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to implement the Decision Review System (DRS) for this series to reduce expenses.
According to reliable sources cited by Pakistani media, the PCB anticipates lower revenue due to limited interest in the series, prompting cost-cutting measures, including the exclusion of DRS. The PCB also noted that the technical team required to operate DRS is unavailable, a situation previously seen during the second phase of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) when DRS was similarly omitted. The PCB has reportedly informed the Bangladesh cricket team of this decision, as claimed by Cricket Pakistan.
Originally planned as a five-match series, the T20 series has been reduced to three matches, with the remaining games scheduled for May 28 and June 1.
Bangladesh will be without their key pacers Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Nahid Rana for the series, with Nahid opting not to travel to Pakistan. Additionally, two members of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) coaching staff have also not joined the team in Pakistan.
