Complications in Ticket Sales for Bangladesh-Singapore Match Frustrate Fans

Sports, 27 May 2025 : The excitement surrounding the upcoming Bangladesh-Singapore Asian Cup Qualifier match has been dampened by persistent issues in the online ticket sales process, leaving football fans frustrated. Despite repeated announcements by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), the ticketing system has failed to deliver a smooth experience for eager supporters.

The BFF has partnered with the digital platform Tickify for ticket sales. However, fans have reported long waiting times on the website, sometimes exceeding 20 minutes or even half an hour. Many have been unable to secure tickets even after enduring these delays. On Saturday, May 24, the BFF revealed that Tickify’s website had been targeted by a cyberattack, for which they issued an apology.
Online ticket sales began on Saturday night, but numerous fans complained about their inability to purchase tickets. As of Tuesday, May 27, most supporters continued to express dissatisfaction over not securing tickets. On Monday, May 26, after 10 PM, users attempting to buy tickets were greeted with a message stating, “You are now in line. Thank you for your patience. Your estimated waiting time is 3 hours and 8 minutes.” This prolonged wait time left many football enthusiasts empty-handed.
Following the resumption of ticket sales announced on the BFF’s Facebook page last night, fan reactions have been far from positive. One supporter, Zahid Hasan, commented, “You’ve started joking with us. I waited for two hours but couldn’t buy a ticket.”
Golam Gaus, Chairman of the BFF’s Competition Committee, told the media that a virtual queuing system has been implemented to mitigate cyberattacks. He stated, “Though it’s causing inconvenience, people are getting tickets this way. Tickets for other categories will also be released online soon.”
The Bangladesh-Singapore match is scheduled for June 10 at the National Stadium, which has been revamped after four years. With the opportunity to watch star players like Hamza Choudhury, Shamit Som, and Fahmidul Islam, fan enthusiasm is at an all-time high. However, the ongoing ticketing issues risk dampening this excitement.
