July Unity Publishes List of 44 Bureaucrats and 95 Magistrates, Issues 7-Point Demands with May 31 Deadline

Dhaka, May 20, 2025: The ‘July Unity’ platform, a coalition of 80 organizations, has released a list of 44 bureaucrats and 95 magistrates currently serving in various ministries and departments, labeling them as collaborators of the “fallen Awami League.”

The announcement was made during a press conference at the National Press Club’s Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall on Tuesday morning. Alongside the list, the platform presented a seven-point demand, threatening a ‘March to Secretariat’ if the demands are not met by May 31.

July Unity organizer AB Zobayer, speaking at the press conference, stated, “We are giving the government until May 31 to meet our demands. If they fail, we will be compelled to announce a ‘March to Secretariat’ program. If necessary, we will launch even tougher programs.”
Seven-Point Demands
In a written statement, July Unity organizer Mosaddek Ali Ibne Mohammad outlined the following demands:
  1. Mandatory retirement of the listed Awami League collaborators by May 31.
  2. Formation of an investigation committee within three working days, with visible progress.
  3. Seizure of bank accounts and illegal assets of bureaucrats and officials involved in data leaks, ordering shootings on students and civilians, or aiding such actions, along with their families.
  4. Imposition of travel bans and legal action against collaborators of the authoritarian regime.
  5. Publication of a white paper on identified collaborators on the government website by August 5.
  6. Repeal or amendment of Section 132 of the law by May 31, which prevents filing cases against police involved in killings.
  7. Publication of the list of 626 individuals who sought refuge in military cantonments, their current whereabouts, and details of those who facilitated their escape from the country.
List Announcement
The names of 44 bureaucrats were read out by Syed Gaziur Rahman, father of martyr Syed Muntasur Rahman from the July-August movement. Additionally, Abdullah Al Minhaz, a July Unity organizer and member of Up Bangladesh, read out the names of 95 magistrates accused of ordering shootings on students and civilians. The platform noted that both lists are incomplete. They also announced plans to publish lists of collaborators in sectors such as education, healthcare, law, and media in the future.
