Dhaka, May 20, 2025 – Starlink, the satellite internet service provider, has officially commenced operations in Bangladesh, marking a significant step towards enhancing internet connectivity in the country.
The announcement was confirmed by Foyez Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser (responsible for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology), through a Facebook post on Tuesday morning.
In his post, Foyez Ahmad stated that Starlink informed him of the launch via a phone call on Monday afternoon, with the company further confirming the development through its official X handle on Tuesday. The service will initially offer two packages: ‘Starlink Residential’ priced at BDT 6,000 per month and ‘Residential Light’ at BDT 4,200 per month. Customers opting for either package will need to pay a one-time equipment cost of BDT 47,000.
Interested customers can place orders for the service starting today through Starlink’s official website or designated platforms. Foyez Ahmad highlighted that, despite the initial costs, Starlink’s entry into Bangladesh creates a sustainable option for premium customers to access high-speed internet, promising a transformative impact on connectivity.
