Pakistan Launches 'Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos' in Response to India's 'Operation Sindoor'

International Desk, May 10, 2025: Pakistan has initiated a large-scale military operation named 'Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos' as a direct counter to India's recent military campaign, 'Operation Sindoor.' According to Pakistani defense sources, the operation, launched on Friday night, targeted 11 key Indian military installations, escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

The targeted sites include the Pathankot Air Base, Udhampur Air Base, Gujarat Air Base, Rajasthan Air Base, and a storage facility for India’s supersonic BrahMos cruise missile in Beas. A senior Pakistani military official confirmed these details to Geo News, stating that the strikes were executed using Pakistan’s indigenously developed Fatah-1 missile, which has a range of 120 kilometers.
The official further revealed that the attacks destroyed an Indian Army brigade headquarters and a supply depot in Uri, located in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as an artillery battery in Nagrota. Additionally, Pakistan’s Air Force, using JF-17 fighter jets, reportedly demolished an S-400 air defense system stationed at the Adampur Air Base in Punjab, marking it as a significant achievement in Friday’s offensive.
The escalation follows a deadly terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 tourists, mostly Hindu men, were killed by automatic rifles. India responded with diplomatic measures, including canceling visas for Pakistani nationals and suspending the Indus Water Treaty. Pakistan retaliated by closing its airspace to India and imposing reciprocal visa bans.
Amid this heightened tension, India conducted 'Operation Sindoor' on Tuesday, targeting alleged terrorist bases in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and other areas. New Delhi claimed the operation killed 70 Pakistani terrorists, while Pakistan reported 31 deaths and 57 injuries, alleging civilian casualties.
Pakistan’s 'Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos,' launched three days after India’s offensive, draws its name from an Arabic phrase in the Quran, translating to “a wall of lead” in English, symbolizing resilience and unity. The operation marks a significant escalation in the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict, raising concerns about regional stability.
