5 New COVID-19 Cases Detected in Last 24 Hours, Travel Advisory Issued

 

Date: June 9, 2025 : In the last 24 hours, five new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Bangladesh. Additionally, due to a rise in infections from a new variant of the coronavirus in neighboring India and several other countries, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has issued a travel advisory urging people to avoid non-essential travel to these countries. This information was shared in a regular press release by the DGHS on Monday, June 9.  

Since the onset of the pandemic, the total death toll from COVID-19 in Bangladesh stands at 29,500. Meanwhile, 2,019,363 people have recovered from the virus. The overall detection rate remains at 13.05 percent.
On Sunday, June 8, the Information Directorate issued a notice calling for public caution. It particularly advised elderly and unwell individuals to avoid crowded places.
The DGHS has urged the public to continue wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and adhering to health guidelines to curb the spread of the virus.
