Bangladesh Whitewashed by Pakistan in T20I Series

Sports, June 2, 2025 : Bangladesh suffered a whitewash at the hands of Pakistan in the third and final T20I match of the series, as the hosts secured a comfortable victory with 16 balls to spare. Chasing a formidable target of 197 set by Bangladesh, Pakistan cruised to victory, losing just three wickets, thanks to a blazing century by Mohammad Haris.

Bangladesh posted their highest T20I team total against Pakistan, scoring 196/6 in 20 overs after losing the toss. Parvez Hossain Emon led the charge with a brilliant 66 off 34 balls, supported by Tanzid Hasan Tamim’s 42 off 32. The openers forged a 110-run partnership, Bangladesh’s fifth century opening stand in T20I history, with Tamim involved in three of them. However, the middle order couldn’t maintain the momentum, with Liton Das (22 off 18) and Towhid Hridoy (25 off 18) contributing modest scores. Jaker Ali’s unbeaten 15 off 9 provided a late flourish.
Pakistan’s chase began with a setback as Shawaiz Farhan fell for just 1 run. However, Mohammad Haris and Saim Ayub steadied the innings, attacking the Bangladeshi bowlers with a flurry of boundaries. Ayub scored 45 before departing, while Haris powered on, reaching his half-century and eventually finishing unbeaten on 107. Hasan Nawaz chipped in with a quickfire 26 off 13 balls, ensuring Pakistan’s victory. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers, taking 2 wickets.
The defeat marks a clean sweep for Pakistan, leaving Liton Das’ side searching for answers after a tough series at home.
