Dhaka, June 2, 2025: In a move to strengthen bilateral trade ties, Bangladesh and China have decided to initiate joint research on jute products. Chinese businessman Wang Wentao emphasized that cooperation between the two nations should not be limited to business alone but should extend to research as well. He stated, “If Bangladesh participates in this research, I believe jute will become a suitable product for China.”
Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus praised the initiative, noting that Bangladeshi jute product designers could collaborate with Chinese experts. He expressed appreciation for the Chinese minister’s sincerity and friendly stance, thanking China for standing by Bangladesh like a friend. Addressing the Chinese minister, Dr. Yunus remarked, “Your words sound like music to my ears.”
Commending the minister’s warm speech and the arrival of a large number of Chinese investors, Dr. Yunus said, “We are extremely delighted. Your speech today was highly significant. The presence of so many investors is a positive message for us, and the entire nation has taken note of it.”
Reflecting on his recent visit to China, Dr. Yunus added, “We held extensive discussions on various bilateral issues, particularly trade and business. Those talks were marked by great sincerity. Your visit will further advance our relationship.”
