Rangamati, June 5, 2025: The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has heightened surveillance and patrols along the Rangamati district border to maintain law and order and prevent illegal push-ins. This was announced by BGB Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Nahid Hassan during a press conference held on Thursday (June 5) morning at the Longdu Rajnagar BGB office.
He stated that, in view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha, the BGB has adopted a strict stance to curb cattle smuggling and the illegal trafficking of hides. Additionally, to ensure that the people of the country can celebrate Eid without disruption during the extended holidays, BGB personnel have set aside their own leave considerations to focus on securing the border, maintaining internal law and order, and ensuring the safety of Eid congregations.
According to a BGB press release, patrols have been increased at key border locations. In recent times, to prevent illegal push-ins, the BGB has intensified its vigilance and patrol activities in collaboration with local communities along the border. Furthermore, the BGB has been consistently raising objections, both verbally and in writing, with the Border Security Force (BSF) of India through flag meetings at various levels to address unauthorized border crossings.
