The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is experiencing a hectic schedule on Eid day. Early this morning, the Bhutan team departed Bangladesh, while a 42-member Singapore football contingent is set to arrive in Dhaka around 10:30 PM. On June 10, Singapore will face host Bangladesh in the Asian Cup qualifiers in Dhaka.
According to BFF sources, Singapore’s delegation includes 23 players, with the remaining 19 comprising technical staff and officials. In football-advanced nations, national team tours typically include a larger technical staff. In contrast, South Asian countries, including Bangladesh, usually travel with a contingent of 30-32 members, often including an equal number of officials alongside coaching staff—a common practice in the region.
Singapore’s team manager has already arrived in Dhaka to inspect training and match venue facilities. The BFF is not responsible for accommodation or other expenses, providing only transportation and logistical support as the host. The Singapore team will stay at the Sonargaon Hotel. Before leaving for Dhaka, they played a friendly match against the Maldives, securing a 3-1 victory.
Tomorrow afternoon, the BFF has arranged for Singapore’s training session at the Armed Police Battalion ground in Uttara. The day after, the visiting team will have the opportunity to train at the match venue as per regulations.
