BNP High-Level Delegation Returns to Dhaka After China Visit

A high-level delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, returned to Dhaka last night, June 27, 2025, at 10:42 PM via China Southern Airlines (Flight No. CZ-391) after completing a five-day visit to China. The delegation had departed Dhaka on June 22, 2025, at 10:35 PM on an Air China flight (Flight No. CA-702) at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The delegation included BNP Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Selima Rahman, and Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, along with BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council members Zahir Uddin Swapon, Ismail Jabiullah, Professor Dr. Sukomal Barua, BNP Media Cell Convener Dr. Maudud Ahmed Pavel, and BNP Chairperson’s Private Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar.

According to BNP’s Media Cell, during the visit, the delegation toured a model community in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, and visited the modern smart city project ‘Code City’ in the Xi’an Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone. They also held meetings with Li Hongzhong, a member of the CPC’s Political Bureau and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, and Sun Weidong, Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, political cooperation, and future collaboration with Bangladesh’s incoming government.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated, “This visit has fostered a new understanding between the BNP and the Communist Party of China, which will elevate the strategic relations between Bangladesh and China to new heights.” He further noted that China expressed its commitment to continue supporting Bangladesh in areas such as agriculture, industry, garments, health, and infrastructure development
