BNP Worker Accused of Breaking into House and Raping Woman in Muradnagar

 

In a shocking incident, a woman (25) from the Hindu community, who was visiting her parental home, was allegedly raped by a local BNP worker named Fazar Ali in Baharchar Pachkitta village, Ramchandrapur South Union, Muradnagar, Cumilla. The incident occurred on the night of Thursday, June 26, 2025. On Friday, June 27, the victim filed a rape case against Fazar Ali at the Muradnagar Police Station.

The accused, Fazar Ali, is the son of Shahid Miah from the Purbo Para area of Baharchar Pachkitta village and is reportedly an aspirant for a position in the union BNP. According to the complaint, the victim had come to her father’s house 15 days ago from her husband’s home. On Thursday night around 10 PM, Fazar Ali approached her house and demanded that she open the door. When she refused, he allegedly broke the door, entered the house, and forcibly raped her. The victim’s aunt, Shwarasati Barman, stated that a religious ceremony was taking place at a nearby Hindu household at the time of the incident. Hearing unusual noises, she rushed to call people from the ceremony. They found the door broken and rescued the victim with the help of others. A local resident, Sajib, said they witnessed Fazar Ali committing the crime when they entered the house and subsequently rescued the victim. He further alleged that Fazar Ali has been involved in various misdeeds in the area and claims to be a BNP leader by maintaining close ties with party members. The victim’s uncle, Nakul Barman, expressed concerns about their safety, stating, “We are living in fear after this incident. Today, it was my niece; tomorrow, it could be my family. We demand justice and security.” Muradnagar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge, Zahidur Rahman, confirmed the filing of the case and said, “Operations are underway to apprehend the accused. We hope to arrest him soon.” Efforts to contact Fazar Ali for comment were unsuccessful.
