Dhaka, June 28, 2025: A tense incident occurred last night at 9:30 PM on Road No. 19 in Gulshan, near the east side of the RAJUK Car Parking Building, in front of Hamid Molla’s tea stall. Md. Ashik (25) attempted to fire a 7.65 mm (.32 ACP) automatic pistol at an unidentified individual. Onlookers swiftly apprehended him and subjected him to severe physical assault.
Upon receiving the report, the Niketon-81 Night Mobile Team rushed to the scene, brought the situation under control, and rescued the suspect from the crowd, taking him into police custody. A search yielded a 7.65 mm automatic pistol, one magazine, and six rounds of ammunition in his possession. During preliminary interrogation, the suspect identified himself as Md. Ashik, aged 25, son of Amir Hossain, from Gacha Thana, Gazipur District. Due to his deteriorating physical condition from the assault, he was sent to Kurmitola General Hospital for treatment. The seized items include one 7.65 mm automatic pistol, one magazine, and six rounds of ammunition. Post-incident, the law and order situation in the Gulshan Thana area remains stable, with intensified police patrolling in the area.
