The statement cited their violation of organizational discipline as the basis for the decision, which was approved by Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir. The organization has instructed all its members to sever any ties with the expelled leaders.
The arrests took place during a joint operation by the army and police in Khulna’s Shipyard and Chanmari areas on the night of June 17, 2025. The raid, which began at midnight and continued until 6:30 AM, targeted three residences. In Chanmari, at the house of Yunus Talukder, authorities recovered a foreign pistol, two rounds of live ammunition, and 270 yaba tablets, arresting five individuals, including Raju Ahmed, Shamim Hossain, and Junayed Hossain Munna, a former joint convener of City College Chhatra Dal. Two separate cases have been filed against the accused.
