Dhaka, June 17, 2025: Kamal Khan, the central vice-president of the banned organization Chhatra League, was detained by the public in the Azimpur area of the capital and handed over to the police. The incident took place around 9:00 PM on Tuesday. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of New Market Police Station AKM Mahfuzul Haque confirmed the matter.
According to the OC, Kamal Khan was spotted on a road in Azimpur, where local people recognized him and detained him. During this time, he was subjected to mob beating. Police later arrived at the scene, rescued him in a bloodied condition, and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
OC Mahfuzul Haque stated that the process of filing a case against him is underway.
