Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus Extends Eid-ul-Adha Greetings to the Nation

Dhaka, June 06, 2025 : On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community in Bangladesh and worldwide. In a speech addressing the nation on Friday (June 6), he conveyed his warm wishes.

In his message, Dr. Yunus said, “On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, I extend my greetings and Eid Mubarak to the Muslim community in Bangladesh and across the globe.” He highlighted that Eid-ul-Adha symbolizes profound devotion and sacrifice to Almighty Allah, exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) willingness to sacrifice his beloved son, Prophet Ismail (AS). Following this example, Muslims worldwide perform animal sacrifices, embodying complete submission to Allah.
Dr. Yunus emphasized that Eid-ul-Adha teaches values of peace, sacrifice, and equality. He noted that by distributing the meat of sacrificial animals among the poor, relatives, and the underprivileged, Muslims foster bonds of harmony and brotherhood. “May the spirit of sacrifice, self-purification, harmony, and unity spread across individuals, families, society, and the state—this is the aspiration of Eid,” he added.
He urged the nation to embrace the lessons of sacrifice from Eid-ul-Adha and work towards building a new Bangladesh free from inequality, prosperous, and peaceful, especially in the wake of the July mass uprising. Dr. Yunus also prayed to Almighty Allah for the continued prosperity and progress of Bangladesh.
