In a daring daylight robbery, miscreants held a businessman at gunpoint and looted Tk 34 lakh in Birol upazila of Dinajpur. The incident occurred around 2:15 PM on Wednesday (June 25) near a bridge adjacent to the Baniyapara railway gate in the upazila.
The victim, Md. Moinul Islam, is a resident of Gopalpur Bara Bari village in the 6th Bhandara Union of Birol upazila and the son of the late Khorshed Ali. According to Moinul, he was heading to the Dinajpur Agrani Bank Station Road branch on a motorcycle to deposit money for a CC loan. Upon reaching the spot, six miscreants on two motorcycles blocked his path. They held a firearm to his head, snatched the bag containing the money, and fled the scene.
Confirming the incident, Birol Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Sabur stated that a case is being processed regarding the robbery. The police are actively working to identify and apprehend the culprits.
