The district administration in Chattogram conducted a raid in the Tulatoli Mouza of Sitakunda Upazila to reclaim government khas land illegally occupied by a shipyard. On Wednesday, June 25, a two-story building, a single-story structure, an electrical substation, and poles at Kohinoor Steel’s facility were demolished during the operation.
According to the district administration, a portion of 113.63 acres of land under BS No. 1 Khas Khatian, plot number 494, had been illegally occupied for years. The raid aimed to recover this land.
Previously, on March 20, the district administration issued a notice giving illegal occupants seven days to vacate the land. As the deadline passed without compliance, the administration decided to conduct the raid.
Led by Executive Magistrate Md. Al Amin Hossain, the operation successfully reclaimed the land for the government. Measures have been taken to prevent future encroachments, Hossain confirmed.
The Chattogram district administration stated that regular operations will continue to reclaim any government land under illegal occupation across the district.
