Dhaka, June 21, 2025: In the interest of maintaining public order, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all forms of public gatherings, processions, rallies, and demonstrations around the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) offices and their surrounding areas. This was announced in a press release signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali, NDC, on Saturday (June 21).
According to the press release, the prohibition has been enforced under the authority of Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance. The ban will take effect from 6:00 AM on Sunday (June 22) and will remain in place until further notice. The restricted areas include the NBR and BIDA offices located along Agargaon Road, starting from Shishu Mela under the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, as well as the surrounding vicinity.
The DMP stated that this measure has been taken to ensure public order and safety. The public is requested to comply with this directive.
