Satkhira, June 06, 2025: In sync with Saudi Arabia, more than 20 villages in Satkhira district celebrated the holy festival of Eid-ul-Adha with fervor and devotion. On Friday (June 06), Eid prayers were held in various mosques across the district, attended by both men and women.
In Satkhira Sadar Upazila, the Eid prayer was held at 7:45 AM at the Bharukhali Ahle Sunnat Al Jamaat Jame Mosque, led by Maulana Mahbubur Rahman. Simultaneously, another Eid congregation took place at Baokhola Purba Para Jame Mosque, where Maulana Md. Mohabbat Ali served as the imam. Residents from around 20 villages, including Islamkati, Goyalchattar, Bhadra, Ghona, and Mirgidanga, participated in these prayer gatherings.
Local resident Robiul Islam said, “In more than 20 villages of Satkhira, we have performed Eid prayers in accordance with Saudi Arabia’s schedule. This has been our tradition for a long time, and we will continue to follow it in the future.” He added that for over a decade, the people of these villages have been celebrating both Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha based on Saudi Arabia’s announced dates.
After the prayers, the worshippers exchanged Eid greetings with embraces and performed animal sacrifices to seek the pleasure of Almighty Allah. The celebrations in these Satkhira villages were marked by a blend of religious solemnity and communal joy.
