Eid-ul-Adha’s First Congregation Held at National Mosque, Prayers Offered for Nation’s Welfare

 

The first Eid-ul-Adha congregation was held with religious solemnity at the National Mosque, Baitul Mukarram, in Dhaka. The prayer session began at 7:00 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, and concluded at 7:09 AM. The congregation was led by Dr. Khalilur Rahman Madani, Principal of Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa in Jatrabari, with Md. Abdul Hadi, a khadem of Baitul Mukarram Mosque, serving as the muqabbir.

After the two-rakat obligatory prayer, the imam delivered a sermon (khutba), followed by a special supplication (munajat). Prayers were offered for the welfare of the nation, peace, prosperity, and unity of the Muslim Ummah, as well as for the happiness, peace, and security of all people. Following the munajat, the worshippers exchanged Eid greetings and embraces.
In addition to the first congregation, four more Eid prayer sessions will be held at Baitul Mukarram throughout the morning. The second congregation is scheduled for 8:00 AM, led by Dr. Maulana Abu Saleh Patowari of the Islamic Foundation; the third at 9:00 AM, led by Dr. Mushtak Ahmad, Editor of the Translation and Compilation Department of the Islamic Foundation; the fourth at 10:00 AM, led by Mufti Md. Abdullah of the Islamic Foundation; and the fifth and final congregation at 10:45 AM, led by Maulana Mohammad Nur Uddin, a language teacher at the Islamic Foundation’s Dini Dawah and Culture Department.
