German Ambassador Bids Farewell to Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus

 

The outgoing German Ambassador to Bangladesh, Achim Tröster, held a farewell meeting with Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus at the state guesthouse Yamuna on Wednesday (June 25).
During the meeting, Dr. Yunus congratulated Ambassador Tröster for successfully completing his tenure and praised his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Germany. He stated, “Germany has always been a reliable partner in our development journey. As our largest trading partner in Europe, Germany’s role is immensely significant.” He also expressed gratitude for Germany’s consistent support in Bangladesh’s development and humanitarian assistance for the Rohingya.
Dr. Yunus added, “Even after you leave, we would like to hear your views, whether positive or critical.”
Ambassador Tröster remarked, “I have worked in many important places in my professional career, but Bangladesh truly stands out. The hospitality of its people has deeply impressed me.” He highlighted the Investment Summit as a commendable initiative and wished success for the interim government’s reform process. He also expressed hope for a free and fair election in Bangladesh.
The meeting was attended by SDG Coordinator and Senior Secretary Lamiya Morshed and Director General of the West Europe and European Union Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Md. Mosharraf Hossain.
