According to the report, Shankar and Manasa, a married couple, were living in a rented house in Hilalige village. On the night of June 3, Shankar informed Manasa that he would return the next morning from work. However, he returned home unexpectedly early that night and allegedly found Manasa with another man, leading to a heated argument. Following the altercation, Manasa left the house but reportedly returned multiple times over the next few days to harass Shankar.
On the night before the murder, Manasa returned and caused a disturbance, pushing Shankar beyond his limits. Enraged, he killed her by beheading her and later walked into the Suryanagar police station with her severed head to confess to the crime.
Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police, C K Baba, stated that the couple had a dispute the previous night, during which Shankar brutally assaulted and killed Manasa. He then carried her severed head to the police station and admitted to the crime. A murder case has been registered against him.
The couple has a child, and their disputes over Manasa’s alleged affair had been ongoing since the previous week, culminating in this horrific act. Shankar has been taken into custody, and the police are investigating the case further.
