The interim government has decided to observe July 16 as ‘July Martyrs’ Day’ and August 5 as ‘People’s Uprising Day.’ The decision was made during a meeting of the interim government’s advisory council on Sunday, June 29. Additionally, August 8 has been declared as ‘New Bangladesh Day.’
These days will be observed nationally to honor the martyrs of the July-August uprising and to pay tribute to their sacrifices. According to government sources, various programs will be organized on these days to highlight national unity and the resolve to build a new Bangladesh.
Further details regarding the programs and observance will be announced later, as confirmed by government officials.
