Iranian Missile Attacks Cause Extensive Damage in Tel Aviv and Haifa

Iran has launched a fresh wave of missile attacks on Israel, targeting multiple locations across the country, resulting in significant destruction in Tel Aviv and Haifa. The attacks also triggered multiple explosions in Jerusalem, according to reports from Al Jazeera on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

The Israeli military reported that Iran fired a total of 27 missiles in two phases—22 in the first wave and 5 in the second. The targets were widespread, ranging from the occupied Golan Heights in Syria to Upper Galilee and northern and central coastal areas of Israel.
At least 10 different locations have been struck directly by missiles or large-scale shrapnel, causing extensive damage, particularly in Tel Aviv and Haifa. The exact nature of the damaged structures remains unconfirmed. Israel’s medical services have reported up to 16 injuries so far, with medical teams continuing to search the affected areas to ensure no one is left without treatment.
Following warnings of incoming Iranian missiles, multiple explosions were heard in Jerusalem, as reported by BBC’s Middle East correspondent Hugo Bachega from the city.

The attacks come amid heightened tensions, with Iran retaliating against recent Israeli and U.S. strikes on its nuclear and military facilities. Iran’s Supreme Leader’s advisor has also issued warnings of potential missile strikes on U.S. naval fleets, while Israel has closed its airspace in response to the escalating conflict.
