Due to unavoidable circumstances, BNP leader Ishraq Hossain has rescheduled his press conference, originally set for Tuesday (June 24) at 4:30 PM at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club. According to Ishraq’s media cell, the conference will now take place on Wednesday (June 25) at 12 PM at the same venue.
The press conference will focus on the ongoing movement at Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), its service activities, and the broader movement of Dhaka residents. Ishraq will also protest recent derogatory and misleading statements made by Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud in the media, addressing these alongside other related issues.
Meanwhile, after being closed for an extended period, the main gate of DSCC’s Nagar Bhavan reopened on Monday (June 23), resuming service activities. However, the sit-in program by Ishraq’s supporters continues. From May 15 to June 3, all civic services at Nagar Bhavan were suspended, causing significant inconvenience to citizens seeking essential services.
During that period, Ishraq’s supporters blocked the main gate and locked various departments, halting all service operations. After the Eid break, starting June 15, they resumed their sit-in program at Nagar Bhavan, keeping the main gate and other departments locked until the day before yesterday. On Monday, the main gate and other departmental locks were finally removed, allowing services to resume.
